Early Years
The Ziauddin School’s Early Years programme provides a nurturing environment that encourages positive self-esteem and respect. Children experience personal, social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth through a blend of free play and structured activities. The programme emphasises a collaborative learning approach where both children and adults engage as learning partners, fostering strong relationships, a sense of community, and the freedom to express ideas.
In order to promote holistic development, the Early Years curriculum replaces traditional subject titles with “Areas of Experience.” These areas are equally important and interconnected, facilitating a more comprehensive approach to assessing learning and development. The six areas of experience are:
- Communication, Language, and Literacy (English and Urdu)
- Mathematical Development
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE)
- Physical Development
- Creative Development (Art and Music)
- This approach ensures that children develop multiple literacies and thrive in a well-rounded, supportive learning environment.
The Early Years Programme focuses on six Areas of Experience instead of traditional subjects to foster well-rounded development:
Learning Areas
The programme emphasises both structured and free play, allowing children to explore and develop through hands-on experiences. The learning areas are tailored to engage multiple aspects of child development, including emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth.
Student-Teacher Ratio
To ensure personalised attention and effective learning, the Early Years Programme maintains a low student-teacher ratio. This enables educators to provide individualised support to each child, allowing them to track and facilitate personal growth effectively.
Educational Environment
The learning environment is nurturing and stimulating, focusing on creating a caring atmosphere where children feel valued and respected. The classroom setup encourages interaction, creativity, and active engagement, promoting a sense of community and collaboration.
Parent Partnership
Parents are considered essential partners in their child’s learning journey. The school fosters strong communication with parents, encouraging their involvement in both academic and developmental aspects of the child’s education. This partnership ensures the child’s progress is supported both at school and at home.
Child Shield (Safety and Well-being)
