Born in Karachi in 1953, Dr. Asim Hussain was educated at the Karachi Grammar School, Cadet College Petaro, Dow Medical College Karachi and in Europe. He is the grandson of Dr. Sir Ziauddin Ahmad. Dr. Asim Hussain has served as Advisor to the Prime Minister on Petroleum & Natural Resources and Chairman of the National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB) with the status of a Federal Minister. In recognition of his invaluable contribution to the country, Dr. Asim Hussain was conferred Sitara-e-Imtiaz on March 23, 2005.
