Educational Trip to Ziauddin University Clifton

“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” Aristotle.

Going on an Educational trip means more than simply leaving the college grounds. These journeys should always have a major educational element, but the impact of these journeys can extend much further. It give students the chance to build closer bonds with their colleagues, experience new environments and appreciate a day away from the classroom.

In the month of February, 2020, we had an educational trip with the students of our Intermediate college to ZIauddin University – Clifton campus. In my personal opinion, it was a delightful trip as students explored a variety of new educational facilities which the students were uninformed earlier. The lecture demonstration of Professor Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqi, the Vice Chancellor of Ziauddin University, was an inspiration and enlightenment for every student.  Furthermore, the hospitality and guidance of the staff members there really helped the students to make up their minds about the future.

The students of our intermediate college also interacted with the graduate and post graduate students of the university and asked them about their learning experiences and also had their queries answered. In brief, our students were thoroughly entertained by this notorious and intellectual visit.

Dreamworld Resort Picnic

The most awaited day of the year was the college picnic to Dreamworld  Resort, Karachi.

We were welcomed by the staff of the Resort, and students were amazed to see the variety of swimming pools, boating area, a gaming zone, and much more. Lockers were provided keep the belongings. A delicious breakfast was followed by a tour of the resort.

After a tiring and fun packed morning all headed for lunch where we all relished different items of food. The group photograph time motivated students.

All the students expressed a desire to revisit the place again. Indeed, it was a great day for all the students and teachers, as it strengthened the bond between the students and their teachers.

Note from the Principal, Ziauddin School and College:

The idea for the school e-magazine is not simply to compile samples of students’ writings, but to engage students in a complete editorial process of curating content for a magazine which has a high production value. Something they can be proud of and something the parents of our students will value and enjoy. We want our students to develop life skills and value-added skills to their curriculum learning in a way that they find empowering and engaging. The editorial team have complete support through the extensive access they have to Ziauddin University’s publications team. The e-magazine will combine content for parents and students of all ages, display the exciting opportunities we afford students at Ziauddin School for extending students’ learning and skills development, and bring the work of school to life for our community.

Shahina Nazir

20 Nov 2020 Uncategorized

My name is Shahina Nazir, and I am a former student of Dr Ziauddin Intermediate College.
I was born and brought up in Africa, mainly in Uganda and Mozambique. I did my O`levels from Aga Khan High school, Kampala, Uganda.
When I moved to Pakistan it was very difficult for me to adjust because I did not know how to read and write in Urdu. The only languages I learnt in Africa were English, Portuguese and French. I was really worried that I would not be accepted in any college because of my language issue but I was lucky enough to have found a college where my weakness was not a problem.
My elder sister came across Ziauddin Intermediate college`s website and she suggested me to give it a try in this college. I discussed my queries regarding the language issue with Ma’am Naheed and she told me that this will be taken care of. I was so relieved after having talked to Ma’am.
And that is how my journey began as a student of Ziauddin Intermediate college.
I participated in so many events; cultural shows, Independence Day celebrations, science fair, student council elections and many more.
The most memorable event for me was the student council elections where by the grace of Allah, I was able to secure enough votes to become Deputy Head Girl of the year.
The teachers at Ziauddin were so supportive and they always encouraged me to do better in both studies and extra-curricular activities. I truly appreciate the efforts of Ma’am Naheed and Miss shahpara for taking out time from their very busy schedule just to teach me Urdu. And now after 2 years, I can proudly say that I can speak, read and write Urdu. In addition, Sir Tauseef has also been my biggest support system during my stay at the college. He not only taught us the bookish knowledge, but also prepared us to face the challenges of the world that awaits us ahead in life.
As I look back to my journey, I realize that Ziauddin college has made me so confident and strong that I feel prepared to face any obstacle that comes my way.
Finally, I would like to conclude with my favorite quote: “Your education is a dress rehearsal for a life that is yours to lead.” -Nora Ephron.

Thank you Ziauddin, for making me a better version of myself!
