We put a particular emphasis on students’ speech and language development. Our teachers create meaningful, interactive situations to focus on oral language development, language comprehension and vocabulary, and by reading stories, books and poems, and singing songs, they teach new words. We also place an emphasis on developing the bilingualism of our students in Early Years which has shown to be especially successful in Early Years classes. Our teachers work on students’ preliminary literacy by reading to them and by supporting students to ‘read’ on their own. In this way our students grasp the concept of the relationship between written and spoken language.
